Our Approach
Established in 2001, The Intensivist Group is owned and operated by board-certified critical care physicians who design and apply innovative approaches to intensive care. Our system optimizes the training, experience and instincts of our intensivists and the teams of clinicians and other hospital professionals who collaborate with them to speed the recovery of critically ill patients. The Intensivist Group model uses total quality management principles. We also have drawn on our experiences as members of hospital medical staffs while leading ICU and telemedicine programs. The four pillars of The Intensivist Group’s approach:

We bring our expertise in transforming critical care services to hospitals through long-term management of ICUs as well as through consulting engagements. In all cases, we help community hospitals to chart a path to improved ICU patient care and efficiency.
One study found that clinicians performed nearly 180 activities, from administering drugs to suctioning lungs, each day for every ICU patient. The same study found that the clinicians made an average of two mistakes per patient per day.
